The injured have been admitted to hospital. Rescue operation is going on since 12 hours. According to police officials, the rescue operation may take another 5-6 hours. So far 14 people have been rescued.
According to media reports, the owner of the building, Nawazish Mansoor, son of SP leader and former cabinet minister Shahid Mansoor, was taken into custody. DGP DS Chauhan told that those who have been taken to the hospital are safe. An FIR will be registered regarding the entire incident. The cause of the accident will be investigated and action will be taken. According to eyewitnesses, the incident took place at around 6.45 pm. The policemen posted at the site of the building collapse are having a hard time controlling the grieving relatives and urging them to exercise restraint in the hour of crisis.

In the midst of the rescue work, filmmaker Muzaffar Ali was also seen asking about Uzma’s well-being. Meanwhile, JP Singh, a resident of Lucknow’s Jopling Road, whose friends live in a house next to the dilapidated building, heaved a sigh of relief that his friends and their family members were safe.
