Vice-President Oath: Jagdeep Dhankhar, the 14th Vice President of the country, took oath as the Vice President on Thursday. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath to him. Many senior leaders including PM Modi, former President Ram Nath Kovind, Union Home Minister Amit Shah were present in this swearing-in ceremony. Before taking oath, he reached Raj Ghat at 8.30 am and paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi. Dhankhar gave information in this regard by tweeting.

Let us inform that Jagdeep Dhankhar got 528 votes in the Vice Presidential election while his rival opposition candidate Margaret Alva got 182 votes. Dhankhar had won the Vice Presidential election with more than 72 per cent of the total valid votes cast. India’s 13th Vice President Venkaiah Naidu was bid farewell on Monday. Venkaiah Naidu’s term ended on 10 August 2022.

Jagdeep Dhankhar took oath as the 14th Vice President of India today. Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar was born on 18 May 1951 in Kithana, Jhunjhunu district of Rajasthan. Dhankhar comes from a farmer family and Dhankhar is a lawyer by profession. Jagdeep Dhankhar started advocacy after taking law degree and in 1990 he became Senior Advocate in Rajasthan High Court. Dhankhar started his politics with Janata Dal. In 2003, he got disillusioned with the Congress and left the Congress and joined the BJP. In 2019, Jagdeep Dhankhar was made the Governor of West Bengal.
