In a tweet, Varun Gandhi said, “It would be unfortunate if the celebration of 75th Independence Day becomes a burden on the poor. It is shameful to snatch the morsel of the poor and collect the price of the tricolor that resides in the heart of every Indian.

The poor narrated the ordeal
The Pilibhit MP posted a video which shows some ration card holders complaining about being forced to pay Rs 20 to buy the flag. In the video, a person is saying that we do not have money to buy ration and from where to get the money to buy the tricolor.

The Center has urged people to hoist or display the national flag at their homes during August 13-15 as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ programme. The BJP is running a campaign to make the Prime Minister’s call a big success. This is not the first time that BJP MPs are attacking the Modi government. Varun Gandhi is also constantly surrounding the government on the issue of inflation along with the opposition.
