8 days have passed since the tunnel accident
The lives of 41 laborers are at stake in the tunnel accident that occurred on Sunday in Silkyar of Uttarkashi district. Every possible effort is being made to evacuate the workers. Rescue is being carried out for the last 8 days. If there is any need for rescue, a team of experts from Norway and Thailand can also be called. The central government is fully prepared for this. Actually, 17 players of the under-16 football junior team were trapped in a tunnel in Thailand. They were taken out of the tunnel by the rescue team of Thailand and Norway in 2018.
Rescue work has stopped after 24 meters of drilling. Due to some problems, the rescue has to be stopped from time to time. From the state to the central government, the rescue is being monitored. Rescue teams are deployed to take out the workers. Today it has been 8 days since this accident. Let us know what happened in these 8 days.

Day 4: American Earth Auger machine was brought via planes

It takes a whole day to take it from there to the tunnel and then another hope arises that now this rescue will be completed soon.
Fifth day: Fellow workers get angry, Union Minister of State arrives
When 5 days have passed since the incident, the worry increases not only for the workers trapped inside but also for their colleagues outside. The workers’ colleagues get angry. The workers’ companions jostle with the police and officials at the tunnel and accuse them of negligence in delaying the rescue operation. They are barely explained to them by the officials and assurances are given that they will soon evacuate their fellow workers. It has been 2 days since the rescue was stopped due to a fault in the machine. The machine airlifted from Indore has been installed. Now the rescue work will be started again soon. PMO said that other rescue plans are also being executed, which include rescue at Barkot site, vertical way i.e. on top of the mountain and perpendicular way.
From the PM to the CM of the state, everyone is worried about this rescue, and is taking moment-to-moment updates from the officials. The Center and the State are always ready to provide whatever equipment is needed for rescue. Food items are being sent to the workers already trapped inside the tunnel. A 6-inch pipe is also being laid so that more food items can be sent. This pipe has been drilled up to 35 meters.
