Uttarakhand News: Changes will be made in the master plan according to the need of the time. Revisions from time to time will enable a strong roadmap for long-term development. Additional Chief Secretary (Urban Development) Anand Bardhan informed that the master plans so far are of long duration. Master plans are not so effective until the end times.
Now the master plan of any city will not be made for 10 or 20 years. Instead, the government will review and revise these master plans every two to three years. Instructions are being prepared in this regard. Till now 10 to 20 years master plans are prepared for the planned development of cities in the state. 20-year master plans are also being prepared for seven cities including Dehradun, Haridwar, Haldwani, Nainital.
Meanwhile, the government has decided that now changes will be made in these master plans according to the needs of the time. The government will review these master plans every two to three years. In the review, all concerned departments will be called to study the development of the city, increasing population, width of roads to sewer lines, drinking water schemes, electricity, number of vehicles etc. The master plan will be revised on this basis. Revisions from time to time will enable a strong roadmap for long-term development.
