Filing this petition, advocate Dushyant Dave, appearing for the petitioner, had said in the Supreme Court that the court should order a stay on the bulldozer proceedings. The court had made it clear that it cannot pass such an order. In the last hearing, the court adjourned the matter till August 19.

The petitioner had told the Supreme Court about the demand for early hearing, after which the Supreme Court has fixed August 10 for hearing. Apart from this, the court said that by August 8, all the parties should file a written reply. In the first hearing on this matter on July 13, the SC had stayed the petition of Jamiat-Ulema-e-Hind seeking a stay on the bulldozer proceedings in UP.
