Uttar Pradesh News: Gorakhpur which was earlier known for ‘mafia and mosquitoes’ but after bringing new infrastructure projects in Uttar Pradesh in the last 5 years has now got rid of it, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said on Wednesday. After inaugurating and laying foundation stones of 422 infrastructure projects worth Rs 125 crore in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister claimed that the area has now acquired a new identity.
New identity created in 5 years
In his address, the Chief Minister said that there was a time when people used to associate Gorakhpur with mafia and mosquitoes. The youth of the city had to face a crisis. The industrialists were very hesitant to sell goods to local traders and give jobs to the youth. But Gorakhpur has taken a quantum leap with new development programs in the last 5 years. The chief minister has now claimed to have a zoo with an All India Institute of Medical Sciences, a fertilizer factory, a better air and road connectivity.

Gorakhpur progressing with development
The Chief Minister said that now a new identity has been created in Gorakhpur and is moving forward with that. The projects that were inaugurated included projects related to beautification of parks, development of roads, drainage system and door to door garbage collection. Apart from this, transgender employees working in city bus service have also been felicitated. This is a campaign to change the mindset of the society.
