UP: Road built at a cost of crores succumbed to corruption, villagers uprooted the layer by hand

Amethi: In Mangraura village of Jagdishpur Vidhansabha in Amethi, Uttar Pradesh, the 8.3 kilometer road being constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana has started breaking down after 48 hours. Here the road has developed deep potholes at many places. Where the villagers uprooted the road built in 48 hours by hand. The villagers allege that the contractor has used substandard material in the construction of the road. Corruption Union Minister Smriti Irani is very strict about this. Despite this, the officers and contractors are engaged in looting unbridled.

Actually, this matter is related to Mangaraura village in Jagdishpur assembly. Where an 8.3 kilometer long road was built under the PM Gram Sadak Yojana connecting the Jagdishpur to Rae Bareli road, which cost about Rs 3 crore 55 lakh. So far about 1 km of road has been constructed by the administration.

The villagers had uprooted the road by hand

At the same time, when the local villagers saw the road, they were surprised. No rules were followed in making this road. During this the villagers uprooted this road with their hands and feet. Let us tell you that during the construction of the road, neither the broom nor the tar was applied on the road. Meh, the layer was thin, which was uprooted by hand.

JE said – the road does not become strong immediately, it takes time

In this case, JE of PMGSY says that this road is about 8 km long. Which is being built under the PM Gramin Sadak Yojana. Which is being made under quality only. He told that for this, the State Quality Monitor and the Quality Monitor Department conduct periodic checks. The JE told that this time the work of sulfur derusting is being done under PMGSY. In this, the road does not become strong immediately, the road becomes strong only after drying.

Villagers protest against road construction work

After this the local villagers came out on protest. After which this matter reached the police station. Where the police got both the parties to reconcile. In such a situation, the construction of the road is now being started from the other end. However, just now the villagers of the village have protested against the construction of the road. It has been stopped for the time being.

Villagers said – close the road for 1 year by putting a board

During this, the villagers allege that the road being constructed is against the norms. This road should be made in a quality manner. The villagers told the officials that where the road construction is starting, the road should be closed for one year by putting a board, so that the road gets strengthened. The villagers say that it is not good if the road is built, otherwise the construction of the road will not be allowed.

Principal representative said – were opposing the wrong

On the other hand, the Principal Representative says that the road being built in the village is completely of poor quality. Giving clarification, he said that when asked about the quality of the road, a complaint was given against us in the police station by the officials, in which it was said that the villagers misbehaved with the officials. While we were opposing the wrong.

Negligence in road construction

In this case, Amethi Executive Engineer PP Singh said that no such problem has come during the construction of the road. Since, during the construction of the road, the villagers are raising the issue of making a breaker. At present, the contractor has been asked to resume work. In such a situation, the villagers got into a scuffle with the officials, for which a complaint was given in the police station. At present, the agreement of both the parties has been made.
