The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to Congress MP Shashi Tharoor on the appeal of the Delhi Police against the decision of the Patiala House Court.

Case records cannot be shared with outsiders
Tharoor’s lawyer Vikas Pahwa said that there were orders from the trial court as well as the high court that the records of the case should not be shared with outsiders as the media trial was going on. Justice Dinesh Kumar Sharma said that but these are public documents. Vikas Pahwa said that no, those documents are not public. Referring to Chapter 17 of the Delhi High Court Rules, Vikas Pahwa said that in a criminal case, a copy of the record is made available only to the parties. Records can be obtained only after the order of the court.
Delhi Police, the petitioner in the case, said that they have no objection to this and the documents will not be given to any person who is not a party to the case. The court issued notice on Delhi Police’s plea seeking condonation of delay in filing revision petition.
Tharoor was acquitted by the lower court
