Kiren Rijiju said, there are three-four retired judges who are part of the anti-national gang, some of them are activists. These people are trying to make the Indian judiciary play the role of the opposition party.
CJI supported collegium system
Kiren Ririju said this in a program. In the same program, Supreme Court CJI DY Chandrachud had supported the collegium system and told its purpose to maintain the independence of the judiciary. The CJI had said that every system is not perfect, but this is the best system that we have developed.
Kiren Rijiju said, Judiciary does not play any role in initiating and finalizing judicial appointments. Later it was the result of the courage of the Congress party that the Supreme Court started working in it. Some people also call it judicial encroachment. After this the collegium system came into existence.
While speaking in the program, the Union Minister said that till the new system is implemented, the collegium system will remain in force. However, judges cannot be appointed through a judicial order, as this is a purely administrative function.
