Uttar Pradesh The ancient Shravan Devi temple of Hardoi district is known for its mythological significance. According to the belief of Hinduism, here the ear part of the mortal body of Mother Sati had fallen. That is why this temple is named Shravan Devi Temple. At the same time, the priest of the ancient temple, Suresh Tiwari, told that this temple was built by Baba Umanath in ancient times. Also, this temple was renovated by Samliya Prasad Seth in 1864 AD.
Actually, the legend related to the temple is that King Daksha Prajapati had organized a yagya, in which Sati’s husband Shiva was not invited. At the same time, Sati, the daughter of Daksha, had gone to organize this yagya without permission. Seeing the insult of Shiva in the Yagya, Mother Sati jumped into the Yagya Kund and sacrificed herself. Seeing this condition of the mother, Lord Shiva kept her blind dead body on the shoulder and started roaming in the three worlds in a state of great anger. During this, Lord Vishnu had divided the body of Mother Sati into pieces with his chakra to pacify this anger of Shankar.

According to Devi Bhagwat Purana, seeing this five-faced form of the mother gives a person all the five pleasures. All the diseases and disorders of the human body are removed. In which, after lighting the fire in a unique way, a huge yagya is performed on the days of Navratri in the year. This fire is generated by friction method. Sometimes it takes up to twenty four hours to generate this fire. Where apart from Hardoi, people from nearby districts do not forget to visit this temple.
