Delhi Nagar Nigam Chunav Result: BJP’s Chandan Chowdhary has won in ward number-163 Sangam Vihar-A, located inside Deoli assembly. He was pitted against Rahisuddin of Congress and Neeraj Yadav of Aam Aadmi Party. Delhi MCD (Municipal Corporation) is one of the major wards in the election. This ward seat was a general seat in the 2017 elections. At that time this ward seat was number 077S. This time, due to the changed delimitation, its name remained the same i.e. Sangam Vihar-A, but the ward number was changed to 163. However, like the last election, this seat has remained normal this time too.
In the last i.e. 2017 Delhi Municipal Corporation election, then independent candidate Suresh Chaudhary had won from here. He had defeated all other independents including Virender Sharma of Congress, Chandan Kumar of BJP. This time from here AAP party fielded Neeraj Yadav, BJP fielded Chandan Chowdhary and Congress fielded Rahisuddin. Here a direct contest was seen between the AAP candidate and the BJP candidate. However, like the last time, taking the independents lightly this time also proved to be a big mistake.
Call it local problems in the ward or else the issues prevailed here as well. Knowingly or unknowingly, apart from BJP and AAP, any third party i.e. Congress or any independent may not get benefit this time also. There was a strong apprehension about it. Talking to the voters here, it is easy to guess that, seeing the face of any particular party or person, they did not seem ready to use the franchise at all. The population of this ward is 75114. While the population of SC is 11363. The main problem of this ward is jam and parking. The population is increasing and the roads and streets are shrinking.
