Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former CM Vasundhara Raje
In the Rajasthan Assembly elections, the entire responsibility of Congress and BJP rests on the tribal belt. Both the parties have fielded the tribal community on their reserved seats as well as on the general seats, but tribal politics is taking a new turn in the areas of Rajasthan adjoining Madhya Pradesh. Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) and Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP), formed in the name of rights and representation of tribal society, are spoiling the equation of both BJP and Congress this time, due to which the contest in the tribal belt of Udaipur and Banswara has become quite interesting. Is.
13 percent tribal voters are very decisive in the politics of the state. The decision of power in Rajasthan is decided by the votes of this community, because out of 200 seats, 25 seats are reserved for the ST community. In the 2013 elections, BJP came to power by winning reserved seats, but in 2018 it reduced to 11 ST and 10 SC seats.
Congress was successful in winning 21 STs and returned to power. In such a situation, it can be clearly understood that the magic of power is hidden in ST reserved seats. That is why both Congress and BJP have given a bet to the tribal community on the general seats along with the reserved ones. BJP has fielded 30 tribal candidates and Congress 32.

BTP had given Congress and BJP sleepless nights by winning two seats in tribal dominated areas in the 2018 assembly elections. This time a new party has emerged among the tribal community, which is known as Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP). BTP has fielded its candidates on 12 seats and BAP on 21 seats. All eyes are on 13 assembly seats of Banswara division of tribal community belt and 14 of Udaipur division i.e. a total of 27 tribal dominated seats.
BTP and BAP have fielded candidates
Both BTP and BAP have fielded their candidates on the seats of Banswara and Udaipur areas, due to which the tension has increased for BJP and Congress. Both the parties are trying hard to counter the equation of BTP and BAP. Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi and BJP leader and former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and other stalwarts have tried to create a political atmosphere by holding rallies in this area. After this, veteran Congress leaders and ministers Arjun Bamania and Mahendrajit Singh Malviya are embroiled.
Udaipur and Banswara division was once the stronghold of Congress.
Most of the districts of Udaipur and Banswara divisions adjacent to Madhya Pradesh are dominated by tribal voters. At one time it was considered a stronghold of Congress, but now both BJP and Congress have been successful in maintaining their hold. Sometimes Congress and sometimes BJP have been hoisting the flag of victory, but the problem of tribals remains the same. Chhotu Bhai Vasava had created a new stir in the tribal belt by forming BTP and raising the slogan of ‘Jal, Jungle, Zameen Hamara’.
New equations have to be made due to BTP and BAP
Two candidates who contested the elections on BTP ticket, Rajkumar Raut from Chaurasi and Ramprasad Dindaur from Sagwara became MLAs. This time, along with BTP, a new political party BAP emerged from Wangad area and it has created new equations in the area. The reason for this was that according to the constitution of the BTP party, an MLA cannot contest elections for the second time. Along with the demand to change this rule, some tribal leaders did not agree with the decisions being taken regarding Rajasthan from the BTP headquarters in Gujarat and they have formed BAP and fielded their candidates.
BAP has fielded candidates on 21 seats
BAP has fielded candidates on 21 seats including tribal dominated assembly constituencies Bagidaura, Sagwada, Ghatol, Kushalgarh, Dungarpur. Not only this, for the last two months, tribal leaders have been engaged in bike rally and foot contact regarding the demands of Bhil state and issues like reservation in proportion to the population. BAP has created a strong political base in the tribal belt, the litmus test of which will be in the assembly elections.
If BAP is successful in getting five to six thousand votes in tribal dominated seats, then any party can win the political victory in this triangular contest. BSP and Left Party have also entered the tribal belt with full strength, due to which it remains to be seen whose fortunes rise higher?
