Former SHO Inspector Amanjot Kaur said that before the suspension, he was neither given a chance to present his side nor given any notice, just an order to suspend was issued directly.

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has put on hold the suspension of former SHO Inspector Amanjot Kaur, posted at Sarabha Nagar Police Station. Amanjot was accused of corruption. After which an order to suspend him was issued. Ludhiana’s Police Commissioner Mandeep Singh Sidhu had issued an order to suspend Amanjot Kaur Sandhu, posted at Sarabha Nagar police station in Ludhiana, after receiving the inquiry report into allegations of corruption. The police had then told that when Amanjot was posted in Mohali as a sub-inspector in the Punjab Cyber Crime Cell, a complainant had alleged that he had taken a bribe of Rs one lakh.
The court, while hearing the petition filed by Amanjot Kaur, ruled to stay her suspension. The inspector was suspended on November 17 for taking bribe. She was posted as SHO at Sarabha Nagar Police Station 7 days ago i.e. on 10th November. The court will now hear the matter next on March 22. Inspector Kaur said in his petition that I had not taken bribe from anyone. He also said that before the suspension, he was neither given a chance to present his case nor given any notice, only an order to suspend was issued directly.
Inspector told himself innocent
A departmental inquiry was also conducted against the Inspector. After the order of the court, no posting has been given to him yet. A complaint was lodged against Amanjot Kaur on 9 December 2021 and this complaint was lodged against him by Gurbachan Singh of Saini Majra village. Gurbachan had alleged that the inspector had taken a bribe of one lakh rupees from him. However, the inspector called all the allegations leveled against him wrong and declared himself innocent. Following the episode, a video of a man claiming to be the complainant went viral on social networking sites, in which he said that Kaur had not taken bribe from him or anyone.
