After conviction, the special court of NIA/ATS has fixed January 30 as the date for sentencing. An FIR was registered against this terrorist on April 4 last year. There is an allegation against him of snatching the weapon by making a murderous attack on PAC jawan Anil Kumar Paswan posted in Gorakhnath temple. However, on being seen in time, other policemen nabbed the accused on the spot. The police registered a case in this regard and later, during the investigation of the case, the NIS took over the case.

According to the case diary, terrorist Murtaza Ahmed tried to enter the Gorakhnath temple. He suddenly attacked the PAC jawan posted in the security of the temple from Banke and snatched away the weapon. PAC jawans were badly injured in this incident. In the meantime, the rest of the jawans posted in the security of the temple saw and laid siege and nabbed the accused from the spot. After this, the accused was strictly questioned in the temple premises. Later he was taken to the police station and then presented in the court and sent to jail. Since then the case was heard in the special court of NIA/ATS. The court gave full opportunity to the accused to present his side and now, while conducting the final hearing, has convicted him.

The duration of punishment will be decided on the basis of the fault.

After the conviction is proved, it has been decided to announce the sentence against the accused Murtaza Ahmed, but the decision regarding what will be the term of the sentence, will be the next hearing of the case on January 30. According to the advocates associated with the case, the punishment period will be decided against the accused on the basis of his guilt. He is likely to be sentenced to life imprisonment.
