During the press conference on the new excise policy in Delhi, the Deputy CM said that in the new policy, there was a proposal to distribute the shop equally in the whole of Delhi, not to increase the shop. It is being told that the new policy was made only after the approval of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi. Now the Deputy CM said that the government had accepted the suggestions of the LG, which came into force in May 2021. The old shopkeepers benefit from the new excise policy.
CBI inquiry recommended
Now the LG has recommended a CBI inquiry against Kejriwal’s new excise policy. The Deputy CM said that the LG changed the decision without discussing with the government and the cabinet. Manish Sisodia said how the verdict changed. CBI has been proposed to investigate in this regard. If the LG had not changed the decision, the government would not have lost thousands of crores.

MCD permission
The Deputy CM alleged that due to the change of stand, shops did not open in the unauthorized area and liquor shops opened in some places. Which only benefited a few people. Therefore it should be investigated. At the same time, the Deputy CM said that the LG did not change his decision and imposed the condition that liquor shops would be opened with the permission of MCD or DDA. Whereas before it was clearly stated in the files that till now only the Lieutenant Governor gives permission. But the proposal to open the shop reached LG in the first week of November.
