Several people were injured after a multi-storey building collapsed in Hazratganj area of ​​Uttar Pradesh’s capital Lucknow on Tuesday evening. The injured have been admitted to hospital. Point to be noted is that Deputy Chief Minister Brijesh Pathak Had told earlier that there is a possibility of death of three people in the accident. However, then the Deputy Chief Minister told that no one has died. At present, the police is engaged in rescue operation with the help of JCB and relief rescue team on the spot.

Deputy CM Pathak, who said that three people died in the accident, said late in the evening that when those people were taken out of the debris, they were unconscious, due to which there was an illusion of their death. He said that but all is well now.

1. A 5-storey Alaya apartment located on Wazir Hasan Road, Hazratganj, Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh, collapsed on Tuesday evening. 30-35 people were buried under the debris due to the collapse of a multi-storey residential building.
2. Lucknow DM Surya Pal Gangwar told that the operation will continue. 5-6 people are trapped. We have contacted some of them, they are being provided oxygen. NDRF, SDRF and Army involved in the rescue operation have also been called.
3. On the spot, with the help of JCB and relief rescue team, the police is engaged in rescue operation. Deputy CM Brijesh Pathak has reached the spot after getting information about the incident. Brijesh Pathak said that ‘rescue operation is going on’. NDRF-SDRF (team) has reached the spot.
4. Police personnel and fire brigade have also reached the spot. It is our endeavor to save the lives of our brothers and sisters. All the injured who are found during the rescue work are being taken to the hospital immediately.
5. Brijesh Pathak said that all the hospitals in the district have been informed. He told that there were 12 flats in the four-storey building, out of which people were living in nine. On the other hand, Lucknow District Magistrate Surya Pal Gangwar, when asked whether the multi-storey building collapsed due to the tremors, said that ‘nothing can be said now’.
6. Meanwhile, taking cognizance of the accident, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed the officials to provide proper treatment to the injured. The Chief Minister ordered the District Magistrate and senior police officers to go to the spot to conduct relief work and also asked many hospitals to remain alert.
7. According to media reports, some excavation work was going on in the basement of Alaya’s apartment. Is this the reason behind the accident? At the same time, DM Suryapal Gangwar told the media that nothing can be said right now on the possibility of an earthquake behind the accident at 2.28 pm. Relief rescue work is going on. The matter will be investigated.

According to the report of the National Center for Seismology, the intensity of this earthquake which occurred at 2.28 pm was 5.8 and its epicenter was 10 kilometers below the ground level in Nepal. According to the report, apart from the capital Lucknow, earthquake tremors were also felt in Bareilly, Agra, Noida, Ghaziabad and Meerut.
9. According to media reports, some people living in and around the apartment told that drilling work was going on in the parking lot of the apartment for a long time. Neither any safety equipment was being used nor was anyone told in this regard.
