Jama Masjid MCD election result: This time the number of wards in Delhi MCD elections was reduced as compared to earlier. In 2017, elections were held in 272 wards. After delimitation, the number of wards reduced to 250 only. Out of these also 42 wards have been reserved for SC category. Ward number-75 Jama Masjid is a major ward out of three present in Chandni Chowk assembly in Delhi Municipal Corporation elections held on 4th December. In 2017, this ward in Chandni Chowk assembly was won by Sultana Abad of Congress party in the municipal elections. He defeated BJP’s Asha Verma and AAP’s Hamida.
This time Sultana Abad has changed the party. Now she has become AAP’s candidate from here, while Congress has fielded Shaheen Praveen and BJP has fielded Asha Verma. Asha Verma was BJP’s candidate in the last election i.e. 2017 as well and could not ensure her victory from BJP. Even after this, she managed to get ticket from BJP this time also. Jama Masjid Ward has a population of 46,051, out of which 2,258 are SCs.

According to the Delhi State Election Commission, 1,46,73,847 voters have been detected till January 1, 2022, out of which 79,86,705 are male and 66,86,081 female voters, while in addition the number of transgender voters is 1,061.
