Sale of Halal certified products banned in UP
The investigation of the FIR registered on November 17 in Hazratganj Kotwali in the matter of issuing Halal certification has been transferred to STF. Due to the wide scope of the case, the UP government has taken this decision, after which the DGP Headquarters has issued an order to transfer the investigation to STF. Due to the game of crores of rupees behind Halal certification, its scope being at the national level and the possibility of an anti-national conspiracy, the investigation of the matter has been handed over to STF.
In this case, on November 17, Shailendra Kumar Sharma, resident of Motijheel, Aishbagh, in Hazratganj Kotwali, had filed a case against Halal India of Chennai, Jamiat Ulema Hind Halal Trust of Delhi, Halal Council of India of Mumbai and Jamiat Ulema and others. There are many serious sections in the FIR. The named companies are accused of earning unfair profits by issuing Halal certificates without any authority.
A few selected people are being benefited by earning money. The money earned from this is being used for anti-national elements and terrorist organizations. Not only this, people associated with the accused companies are propagating using coded forms to influence a particular section of the society. The standards are not even being followed in this. These companies are issuing Halal certificate even to those products which fall in the category of pure vegetarian.
Consideration is being made to register a case under UAPA
There is discussion that in this case, if anti-national activities and funding to terrorist organizations come to light, action can also be taken against the organizations associated with Halal certification under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Intensive discussions are being held with legal experts regarding this. The main function of UAPA is to stop terrorist activities. Under this law, the police identifies such terrorists, criminals or other people who are involved in terrorist activities, prepare people for it or promote such activities. UAPA came in the year 1967. It has been amended in the year 2019.
