Giving information about this, Waqf Board Chairman Maulana Shafi Saadi said, “Ever since the Hijab controversy started in the state, the demand for women’s colleges is increasing among the Muslim community and in such a situation, we are going to open colleges where Women will be allowed to enter the class room with hijab. Along with this he said, “There are two types of people in our community. One is those who strictly follow Shari’a and the other are those who are a little liberal. There are reports coming out that colleges will come up in Mangaluru, Shivamogga, Hassan and Kodagu. The Waqf Board will raise funds for all these 10 colleges.

How did the hijab controversy start?
Hijab controversy started in Udupi district of Karnataka but soon it spread to other districts as well. A video of this dispute also went viral. In which some students wearing saffron gamchha were chasing while shouting slogans against Muskan Khan, a college going student wearing hijab. In which it could be seen that the crowd was following Hijab-clad Muskaan Khan chanting Jai Shri Ram. In response to which Muskaan also raised the slogan of Allah Hu Akbar and on seeing this video went viral in the country and the world. This incident took place in Mandya district of Karnataka. After which this dispute reached the court.
