The state government has been giving 33 to 100 percent concession in ticket rates for these different types of people. Elderly and other special people already got exemption, now women also included
Earlier, on completion of 75 years of independence, the state government has implemented the facility of free travel in all types of buses for senior citizens. Those whose age is between 65 and 75 years, they are allowed to travel by taking half the ticket price i.e. 50 percent discount in ticket rates. Due to these different exemptions, the state government will compensate the loss of the state transport corporation from its treasury.
Half ticket travel in buses, new ticket rate applicable for women
The plan to travel with 50 per cent concession in ticket rates for women was announced on March 9 itself. But due to non-implementation of this, some women traveling by bus got entangled in many parts of the state. They were not ready to give tickets. The conductors were facing a lot of difficulty in convincing them that this scheme was going to be implemented from April 1. But the women were not ready to listen to this. In Renapur of Latur district, the relatives of a woman had beaten and injured the conductor for demanding money for the ticket. To avoid further confusion, an order has been issued to implement this scheme from today itself.
