Describing this as a big achievement, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has said that Chhattisgarh has been continuously creating new records in the agriculture sector for the last four years. This is the result of the hard work of the farmers and their faith in farming. Chief Minister Baghel has said that this year a new record of paddy procurement is also being established in the state. Till last evening, 103 lakh metric tonnes of paddy had been procured. It is expected that by the scheduled end date of 31st January, we will also cross the estimated figure of 110 lakh metric tonnes. According to the report released by the Government of India on January 15, Chhattisgarh had contributed 92 lakh metric tonnes of paddy to the central bridge. It has become the second state to deposit maximum paddy in this season.
There is a steady increase in the area under cultivation
Due to the farmer-friendly policies of the Chhattisgarh government, there has been a pleasant change in agriculture and the lives of farmers. In order to promote crop productivity and crop diversification in the state under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, apart from the Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, Godhan Nyay Yojana, Suraji Gaon Yojana, farmers’ debt waiver, irrigation tax waiver, farmers of the state have been benefited by the Chhattisgarh government. A new force has been found, due to which the number of farmers and the area under cultivation are continuously increasing in the state.
The total number of procurement centers has increased to 2617.
Due to the farmer-friendly schemes of Chhattisgarh government, the registration number of farmers has increased continuously in these four years. This year 24.96 lakh farmers have registered, out of which 2.30 lakh are new farmers. In order to make it easier for farmers to sell paddy, 135 new procurement centers were started in the state this year, due to which the total number of procurement centers has increased to 2617.
Paddy purchase will run till 31 January 2023
On the other hand, there was news in the past that in the current Kharif season of paddy procurement in Chhattisgarh, the record of all the years so far has been broken. So far 103 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been procured in the state on the support price. In the last year 2021-22, 98 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was purchased. Paddy procurement will continue till January 31, 2023.
