G20 Summit 2023 Live Updates: Today is the second and last day of the G20 summit which began on September 9 under the chairmanship of India. Today (September 10) will be the third session of the summit. There were two sessions yesterday (September 9). In the first session, the Delhi Declaration was presented, which was agreed to by all the G20 members. In such a situation, the Delhi Declaration was approved on the first day of the G20 summit.
After this, other issues were discussed in the second session. The Delhi Declaration urges all countries to “refrain from the use of force for territorial acquisitions.” However, there is no reference to Russia in the entire document. At the end of the day, President Draupadi Murmu hosted a dinner for the G20 leaders at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi, where representatives of all the countries were present.
G20 Sherpa Amitabh Kant said, this was the result of about 200 hours of continuous talks and it was agreed upon on Friday night itself. It was the joint effort of the Sherpas and emerging markets led by India, Brazil, South Africa and Indonesia and later Mexico, Turkey and Saudi Arabia that put pressure on the G7 countries and brought them to the table.
Negotiations moved from the first draft to the second and then to the third, while bilateral meetings with all countries also helped. After this, India, Brazil, South Africa and Indonesia as well as Mexico, Turkey and Saudi Arabia worked together to exert pressure.
