Notice sent to ‘Smile Pinky’ to demolish house
‘Smile Pinky’, who has made a name for herself from the small village of Rampur Dabahi in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh to Los Angeles, America, is on the verge of losing her home. The Forest Department has sent a notice to demolish the house to Pinky’s house. In the notice, the Forest Department has said that Pinky’s house was built by illegally occupying the forest land. Along with Pinky, notice has also been sent to other people of the village. There is panic among the villagers after receiving the notice.
People may have forgotten ‘Smile Pinky’, resident of village Rampur Dhabhi of Ahraura police station area, but Mirzapur Forest Department has brought Pinky back into the limelight. The Divisional Forest Officer has sent a notice on the report of the Regional Forest Officer, Chunar, stating that Pinky’s house was built illegally on forest land. Along with Pinky, 28 villagers of the village have also received such notice. The department had given notice to all of them three years ago and asked them to present their side. For not presenting the case, the department sent a notice on September 21 and ordered eviction. The department had also sought a reply by September 26 and now this deadline has also expired.
The district administration had built the house
Pinky’s mother Shimla Sonkar says, Pinky had got a house built by the district administration on this land, and along with it, a government hand pump was also installed for water. The family and other people have been settled here for almost three decades. After so many years, it is now being told that the land belongs to the Forest Department. Smile Pinky has demanded from the district administration that all the houses built should not be demolished.
DM took the matter into cognizance
Mirzapur District Officer Priyanka Niranjan has taken cognizance of this matter. Giving information, he said that a team from the Revenue Department will be sent and joint measurement will be done. Whatever problem there is, it will be solved by getting it resolved completely. No one will be troubled. For this, the revenue team along with the forest department has been directed. Both the teams will go to the spot and try to dispose of it.

Pinky, a resident of small village Rampur Dabahi in Mirzapur district, was once made fun of in the village because of her cleft lip and palate. After an operation, his smile became famous across the country. The film ‘Smile Pinky’ was made on Pinky’s life. This film was included in the Oscar Award.
