It is being told that a young man from the village entered the woman’s house late on Monday night with the intention of raping her. But could not execute his plans. In such a situation, the accused youth poured petrol in the house and set it on fire and fled. The mother and daughter present inside were burnt alive. In the case, the police has arrested the accused youth.
The case pertains to Chakia village under Palasi police station area of the district. Here a 32-year-old woman lived with her seven-year-old daughter in a thatched house. The woman’s husband is in jail for illegal liquor smuggling. According to the villagers, the village resident Nand Kumar Mahato’s son Gopi was already keeping a dirty eye on the woman. After the woman’s husband went to jail, her way was cleared. Late on Monday night, drunk Nand Kumar entered the woman’s house and tried to rape her. But the woman pushed him out.
Could not rape then burnt alive
In order to fulfill his plans of insult and rape, drunkard Nand Kumar poured petrol on the woman’s thatched house and set it on fire and ran away. Hearing the screams of the woman and the innocent girl, the villagers reached the spot. But by then the burning roof had fallen on both of them. Mother and daughter were badly burnt in the incident. Both were rushed to Sadar Hospital Arwal in a hurry. From there both were referred to PMCH, where both died the next day during treatment. In the case, Parasi Police Station President Sanjit Singh said that on the basis of the mark of the villager, the accused Nand Kumar Mahato has been arrested.
