Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur Inaugurated a new Milkfed Plant of 50 thousand liters capacity constructed at a cost of Rs. Addressing the public meeting in Chakkar, Jai Ram Thakur said that in the year 2021-22, Himachal Pradesh Milk Federation provided Rs 110.56 crore to the farmers by purchasing 395 lakh liters of milk from 47295 farmers of the state. He said that milk production is the main source of income for the farmers of the state.
The CM said that during the tenure of the present government, an increase of 78 percent has been registered in the purchase of milk and it has increased from 219 lakh liters in the year 2017-18 to 395.39 lakh liters in the year 2021-22. The CM said that the total turnover of Himachal Pradesh Milk Federation was Rs 99 crore in the year 2017-18, which has increased to Rs 172 crore in the year 2021-22. The Chief Minister said that during the tenure of the present State Government, there has been an unprecedented increase of Rs.9 per liter in the price of milk procurement from farmers and it has increased from Rs.22.90 per liter in the year 2017-18 to Rs.31.90 per liter in the year 2022-23. Has gone. He said that the commission of milk societies has also increased from 4.5 percent to 5 percent and the milk federation is providing the best price to the milk producers in the country.
11 milk processing plants in the state
Jai Ram Thakur said that 11 milk processing plants, one cattle feed plant and one powder plant are functional in the state. He said that with the establishment of this Milkfed Plant in the circle of Mandi, now the total daily capacity of all milk plants has increased from 1 lakh liters to 1 lakh 30 thousand liters per day. He said that another milk processing plant of 50 thousand liters capacity is being constructed in Dattanagar and 70 percent of its work has been completed. He said that this plant would facilitate thousands of milk producing farmers of Mandi, Kullu, Bilaspur and other districts.

The Chief Minister said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mandi on September 24, 2022, which shows the immense affection of the Prime Minister towards the state and its people.
