Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Shubhendu Adhikari Has made serious allegations on Tuesday by writing a letter to the Chief Secretary of the state, Hari Krishna Dwivedi. they claim government House I am taking rent while being free. He alleged that the Chief Secretary is indulging in corruption despite being at the highest position in the state administration. Shubhendu Adhikari has also written a letter to him on Tuesday. In his letter addressed to the Chief Secretary on Tuesday, Shubhendu Adhikari has mentioned this along with the documents and has shared this letter on his Twitter account. He has written that on 30 September 2020, he was appointed as the Home Secretary of the state. Since then he has been promoted to the rank of Chief Secretary and since then till date he had taken Rs 16.4 lakh as house rent from the West Bengal government. Apart from this, he was also appointed as Finance Secretary in between and two bungalows have also been provided to him by the state government which are rent free.
Shubhendu Adhikari accused the Chief Secretary of indulging in corruption
Shubhendu Adhikari has written that in the annual immovable property return filed by him, he has given information that he has rented a four-storey bungalow in Rajarhat Newtown, which has earned an income of Rs 15 lakh 84 thousand. While he has also given a flat in Newtown’s City Garden on rent, which has earned him an income of Rs 4,80,000. Shubhendu Adhikari has written that my sources present in the Secretariat have informed that the Chief Secretary is continuously involved in this corruption. He should immediately clarify the position that if he is using rent free accommodation on behalf of the state government, that too not one or two, then why has he been taking money from the state as residential rent? Along with this, he has said that the Chief Secretary should either accept it or deny it. If he does not respond then legal action will be taken against him.
