In a joint operation with BSF, Punjab Police recovered 5 AK-47 rifles, 5 pistols and 9 magazines from Ferozepur after the seizure of 13 kg of heroin, he tweeted. 8 Chinese pistols, 60 bullets and 2 KG heroin recovered
Earlier, the Punjab Police had said on Sunday that it has arrested a person, from whom 8 Chinese pistols, 60 bullets and two kilograms of heroin have been seized. It was smuggled into India from Pakistan via drone. A Punjab Police official said that the accused has been identified as Paramjit Singh, a resident of Havalian village in Tarn Taran district.
The officer said that the police had concrete information that a consignment of arms, ammunition and drugs would be smuggled from Pakistan through drones. Police said the drone dropped the consignment inside Indian territory on Friday and Paramjit Singh recovered it on Saturday. Paramjeet Singh was arrested on Sunday morning after his car was stopped by a police team on Ajnala Road.
