Since the BJP has no trade union, the BMS represents the BJP in industrial areas including ports. The total number of candidates in the three panels was 58. Each panel had 19 candidates, including 18 management committee members and vice-chairs. Apart from this, an independent candidate contested the election alone. All political parties were eagerly waiting for the announcement of the election results on Saturday, as leaders of all opposition parties believe that this result is important before the municipal elections.
