Dowry case in Bareilly
Despite strict laws, dowry seekers are not desisting from their misdeeds. A similar case has come to light in Bareilly district of Uttar Pradesh. Where a man threw his wife out of the house after four years of marriage for not getting a bike as dowry. Also, the wife’s photo was edited and made viral on social media. Objectionable comments were also made on that. On the complaint of the wife, the police have registered an FIR against the husband and in-laws. Police have started investigating this matter.
In fact, the married woman, resident of Ram Ganganagar Colony of Bithri police station, Bareilly, alleges that she was married to Akash, a resident of Makardapur, Bhojipura, on 19 June 2019. After marriage, husband Akash, father-in-law Ram Swaroop, mother-in-law Meena, brother-in-law Satpal and Satpal’s wife Durgesh started demanding a bike in dowry.
Threatened to kill his wife
After complaining, the matter reached the police. At Ramganga outpost, it was decided between both the parties that they no longer care about each other. Even after this, Akash started harassing his wife every day. Used to threaten to kill. He would often stop his wife on the road and abuse her and would beat her when she protested.
Photos uploaded on social media
The married woman alleges that her husband edited the photos and videos of her mother, two brothers, sister and sister-in-law and uploaded them on social media. Objectionable comments have also been made on this. The married woman told that she also has screenshots of videos and wrong posts made on social media. Bithri police has registered an FIR on the complaint of the woman.
After the case was registered with the police, all the accused including the husband and in-laws absconded. The police is raiding the relatives to arrest him. Police say that soon the accused will be arrested and sent to jail.
