At the same time, AIIMS suspended two system analysts after issuing show cause notices on charges of negligence in work. Official sources said internet services at the hospital have been suspended as per the recommendations of the probe agencies.
Let me tell you, the breach in the server of AIIMS was detected on the morning of 23 November. It is feared that the data of about 3-4 crore patients may be affected due to the breach. Sources said that due to server down, emergency services, outpatients, admit patients and pathology department are being run on manual mode. From online appointment to sharing the reports of patients, the work is being done manually. At present, the number of patients coming to the hospital has increased considerably, because people are reaching the hospital directly due to lack of online appointments.

India Computer Emergency Response Team, Ministry of Home Affairs and Delhi Police Investigation Team are probing the ransomware attack. Due to ransomware attack, computer hackers hack the server and demand money. A case of extortion and cybercrime was registered on November 25 by the Intelligence Fusion and Strategic Operations (IFSO) team of Delhi Police.
Measures being taken for cyber security
AIIMS said in a statement, the work of data restoration and server repair is in progress. It is taking some time due to the amount of data and large number of servers for hospital services. Measures are being taken for cyber security. However, the police denied reports that the hackers demanded Rs 200 crore in crypto currency as ransom to restore the system in AIIMS.
