At the same time, gradually the children are getting bored with the food menu. Especially children have started getting upset after eating food made from wheat flour. Why shouldn’t the children be bothered by this food? When they are given only pure vegetables for 3 days out of 6 days in a week. For the remaining three days, food made from rice is given. Because of this, now the children of the national capital Delhi have started cutting their teeth from the mid day meal.
On Tuesday, a meeting was held through video conferencing between the Ministry of Central Education and the Government of Delhi. Many issues came to the fore in the two-hour meeting. Why is malnutrition among children increasing despite continuous efforts by the government?
In this meeting, first of all, there was a discussion on taking steps to make the mid-day meal of the government more effective. In this, it came to light that children studying in government schools of Delhi are not showing much interest in government food. Out of about 18 lakh children studying in these schools, about 6 lakh are malnourished.

- Nutritious porridge on Wednesday

Children’s attention is more on eating chowmein and burger
This menu has been prepared for the mid-day meal given to the students in government schools of Delhi. But the children here have mostly become accustomed to eating chowmein, burgers, spicy things and snacks. Due to this, they avoid eating nutritious food given in schools.

Will try to change the menu
Education Department Secretary Ashok Kumar said in a conversation with TV9 Digital that many programs are being run through the directorate to increase nutrition in children, but now a study will be done regarding these menus. The day the children come less. After reviewing the menu of those days, an attempt will be made to change it.
However, the children studying in the schools of the country’s capital come from low-income families. They become anemic due to lack of nutrition in the food at home. In such a situation, his attitude towards nutritious food has forced the government to reconsider it.
