Spectrum allotment before August 15
The bidding mobile companies have to pay an amount of Rs 7500 crore. After this, the government will allot spectrum to the companies before August 15. Companies can start 5G services by September-October. Companies that bid for the spectrum auction include Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Jio, Sunil Mittal’s Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Idea and Gautam Adani’s Adani Enterprises.

The UP Eastern circle, which includes Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi, Gorakhpur and Kanpur, saw a spurt in bidding for 1800 MHz once again, following moderation in spectrum demand on Saturday. There are more than 10 crore mobile subscribers in the UP Eastern Circle. It is believed that during this period, there was a tough competition for spectrum between companies like Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel.
Talking about the auction, Telecom Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said recently that the 5G auction shows that the mobile industry is looking to expand and has entered a growth phase. He said the reserve price fixed for the spectrum is reasonable and it is proved by the auction result.
