Atiq’s close friend Zaid Khalid had lodged an FIR in the case of his kidnapping, in which it was mentioned that Umesh Pal was murdered. According to the FIR, Atiq Ahmed had said that the FIR was lodged at the Dhumanganj police station on 8 January 2019.
