Mumba Devi: Let us tell you that the city of Mumbai got its name from Mumba Devi Temple. The temple of Mumba Devi is located near the Javeri market. This temple is quite old and was built in the honor of Maha Amba Devi about 500 years ago.
Srinagar: People often move to Srinagar to spend their vacations. This name of Srinagar is also named after the goddess. It is said that the city is the home of Shri or Lakshmi Devi in the form of Shree Chakra manifested in Sharika Devi Temple.
Tripura: It is quite interesting to know that the very beautiful north-eastern state of Tripura is named after the ancient Tripura Sundari Temple. This temple is situated on a hill at a distance of about 55 km from Agartala.
Chandigarh: Very few people would know that the beautiful city of Chandigarh is named after Chandi Devi. There is a temple of Chandi Devi here. This temple has great religious importance among the local people and tourists.
Patna: According to mythology- Patna is the place where the right thigh of Goddess Sati fell. At this place a temple was built in the honor of Patan Devi in the form of Goddess Durga.
