According to Shakun Shastra, if an empty vessel or empty bucket is seen before going on a journey, then it is considered inauspicious. You may not get success in the work you are going for. If this happens, stop for a few days and meditate on God and then start the journey.

If you see a crying cat or dog before going on a journey, it is considered inauspicious. In such a situation, there is a possibility of some untoward happening by exiting. It also indicates any calamity coming at home, so it is better to postpone the journey. If travel is necessary, leave the house only after reciting Shiv Chalisa.
