In the budget, on the reduction in the allocation for Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme ie MGNREGA, it has been said by the government that MGNREGA employment will be compensated by the employment generated through Jal Jeevan Mission and PM Awas Yojana. For the financial year 2024, the government has allocated a total of Rs 60,000 crore for MNREGA.

The central government has cut the budget for the purchase of food grains from farmers during the financial year 2023-24. A budget of Rs 59793 crore has been announced for the purchase of food grains in the financial year 2023-24, whereas for the financial year 2022-23 this budget is Rs 72282 crore. The Center gives this money to the states to buy food grains from the farmers.
