‘The Search for the Ghost Fish’
ANFC Senior Research Scientist Dr Will White led the team that discovered the giant fish. He told Business Insider that his team worked to identify the giant catshark based on a testicle sac found off the coast of Australia. It was listed by the National Fish Collection 40 years ago. He kept an eye on the shark’s possible breeding grounds until a live specimen of the creature was caught.
How is this fish different from shark
This particular species of creature has black pupil and its eyes are white. They are different from the sharks found in the deep waters of the ocean. Shark’s eyes are generally dark green or completely black. On assessing this species, researchers found that this ghost fish was genetically unique. Senior Research Scientist Dr. Will White said that we do not know why it has white eyes? It can be like attracting its victim or it can be something else. We really don’t know why this is.

Not much is known about this species of catshark.
Not much is known about this species of catshark. Researchers noted that it swims at slightly greater depths than other catsharks. They descend to a depth of about 1000 meters. Although White says that they too would hunt these fish or other sea creatures that pass by them. According to PBS, catsharks are generally among the smallest species of sharks, averaging less than two and a half feet in length. They are found in warm sea water. They have 40 to 110 barbed teeth.
