    Any person who has a complaint with an entity regulated by the Reserve Bank of India ie RBI, such as a bank, non-banking financial company (NBFC) or a payment system, can file a complaint.

    Any person who has a complaint with an entity regulated by the Reserve Bank of India ie RBI, such as a bank, non-banking financial company (NBFC) or a payment system, can file a complaint. A person can file a complaint through the Centralized Complaint Redressal System under the Integrated Ombudsman Scheme, 2021.

    File a complaint like this

Or the person can file a physical complaint and submit it to the Centralized Receipt and Processing Center (CRPC) located at RBI, 4th Floor, Section 17, Chandigarh.     The complaint ceases to have merit under the scheme, unless the complaint is made in writing to the concerned entity and is rejected by the entity in whole or in part or the complainant is not satisfied with the resolution offered by the entity. Under the scheme, the complaint has to be lodged within one year from the date of receipt of the reply from the regulated entity to the complainant.

    Once a complaint is registered on the portal, it is inspected. If it is found valid, it is sent to the Ombudsman’s office for further investigation. A copy of the complaint is also sent to the unit prescribed by RBI and it is directed to respond. The Ombudsman can ask for certified copies of documents for any information related to the complaint. The settlement of the complaint can be done through the Ombudsman facility.
