in country Corona virus The number of new cases is decreasing. vaccination is also running fast, but Corona’s booster dose People are not showing interest in getting it installed. Government figures show that only 20 percent of the eligible people in the country have received a booster dose. On the other hand, another data from the National Technical Advisory Group has come, in which it has been told that hospitals across the country have received a booster dose in the past. In eight months, 90 percent of the patients admitted to be infected with Kovid had not taken a booster dose.
Experts have different opinions regarding the booster dose. NTAGI Chairman Dr. NK Arora says that antibodies against Kovid remain in the body for 6 to 8 months after taking a dose of the vaccine. In such a situation, there is a need to take the vaccine again. Dr. Arora said that the corona virus is still present and it is infecting people. In such a situation, people should pay attention to vaccination and following the Kovid protocol. Due to the vaccine, antibodies will be made against Kovid in the body which will help in fighting this virus.
At the same time, some experts say that Kovid has become a common flu. In such a situation, there is no special justification for the booster dose. The fear among people about Kovid is over. That’s why people are not taking the vaccine. Because of this, vaccination with booster doses has decreased. Infection continues even after taking the vaccine. That’s why people are avoiding getting the vaccine. At the same time, people are taking boosters which are in high risk group. This is the reason why only 20 percent of eligible people took the third dose.
need better data
Epidemiologist Dr. Yudhveer Singh says that there is no specific data in the country regarding the benefits of booster dose. A data is needed in which it can be found that how many people who have taken the booster dose have not got covid and what is the status of hospitalization in those who took the third dose. If any such data comes then the benefits of booster can be known.
Dr Singh says that at present the situation with Corona is normal in most of the states of the country. The same patients are being admitted in the hospital who are already suffering from some other disease. Hospitalization is not happening only because of Kovid.
It is seen that in infected patients, Kovid is showing symptoms like a flu. In such a situation, the fear of this virus from the minds of people is no longer the same as before. Because of this people are avoiding taking boosters. The number of people taking booster doses is very less, especially among the youth. In such a situation, it is necessary that a research should be done on the benefits of booster dose.
Only 12 percent of the people aged 18-59 took the booster dose
Statistics show that the elderly have taken a significant number of booster doses, but in the age group of 18 to 59 years, the number of those taking the third dose is very less. In the country, 77 crore people in the age group of 18 to 59 years are eligible for a booster dose, but only 12 percent of them have taken a booster dose. Meanwhile, the cases of Kovid are also decreasing in the country. The number of active patients has come down to 64,667. Experts say that due to decreasing cases and being positive even after getting the vaccine, people are not taking boosters. There are many cases where even a second dose has not been taken.
Booster dose is necessary for patients suffering from serious illness
Epidemiologist Dr. Anshuman Kumar says that vaccination with booster dose may be less, but those in high risk group should take the third dose. Because the risk of natural infection cannot be taken in such people. If these people get infected then they will have to be admitted to the hospital and there can be many other problems due to Kovid. It is also being seen that people who are getting admitted in hospitals due to Kovid. Most of them are suffering from chronic serious diseases. In such a situation, it is necessary for these people to take a booster.
