    Question: Why is National Immunization Day celebrated on 16 March, what is its purpose?

    Answer: Its purpose is to run an awareness campaign in the whole country. Through this, this message is to be given that how important is the vaccine to protect your children from deadly and deadly infections. Along with this, it is also to be told that what are the benefits of getting vaccinated.

    Question: When and how many vaccines are given for which deadly diseases under the National Immunization Program

    Answer: 12 types of vaccines are given for 12 serious diseases, all these vaccines are given after the birth of the child.

    BCG vaccine protects against tuberculosis (TB)

    polio vaccine to prevent polio

    HEPATITIS B vaccine protects against severe jaundice

    DPT vaccine for diphtheria tetanus pertussis

    H influenzas B vaccine for flu and pneumonia

    Pneumococcal vaccine protects against pneumonia and meningitis

    Rotavirus vaccine diarrhea

    Measles vaccine for measles

    rubella vaccine german measles

    JE vaccine meningitis

    Td vaccine protects against tetanus and diphtheria

    Question: How does the vaccine protect against deadly diseases?

    Answer: Vaccine is an antigen that protects against many types of dangerous bacteria and viruses. Once these antigens enter the body, it activates our immunity. Due to this infection, the antibodies made in the body can eliminate the virus and dangerous bacteria.

    Question: What is the biggest success of vaccination so far

    Answer: Smallpox was eradicated from the whole world in 1980. A serious disease like polio was completely eradicated from India by 2014. Both these diseases have been eradicated due to vaccination.

    Question: After the introduction of the vaccination program, how much has been the effect on the infant mortality rate in India?

    Answer: The National Immunization Program has been a great success. Due to which lakhs of children are saved from fatal diseases and untimely death every year. According to an estimate, the lives of 20 to 30 lakh children are saved every year. A direct example of this is that in the last 20 years, there has been a significant decline in the infant mortality rate and the mortality rate of children under 5 years of age.

    Question: What is Mission Indradhanush and what are its objectives

    Answer: Mission Indradhanush has been started by the Government of India since 2014. Its target is to vaccinate 90 percent of the children. These are being run especially in those states where the pace of vaccination is slow. Immunization coverage has improved significantly as per NFHS after completion of 6th phase in 554 districts so far

    Question: Why is it necessary to get vaccinated from time to time under the National Immunization Program

    Answer: It is necessary to get vaccinated on time so that life-threatening diseases can be prevented. If the vaccine has not been given on time or the interval of vaccination has also increased, then efforts should be made to get all the vaccines at proper intervals. Suppose that no vaccine has been given till the age of 9 months, then one dose of other vaccines including BCG and Hepatitis must be given later.

    Question: Are there any serious side effects of vaccination?

    Answer: In most of the cases, there are no serious side effects of the vaccine. There is mild fever and pain at the needle site. In very rare cases, high fever occurs, which is cured with treatment. Remember vaccination is a safe and effective procedure. Which protects your children from serious diseases. However, no vaccine is 100% effective.

    Question: If the child is sick should he be given vaccine

    Answer: If the child has a mild cold, cough or mild fever, then the vaccine must be given. Yes, if the child is very ill, has high fever and is having shortness of breath, then the vaccine should be stopped until he is cured. There is an appeal to the people that in order to save their children from serious and life-threatening diseases, they must get all the vaccines on time under the National Immunization Program. If there is a delay in getting the vaccine due to some reason, then contact the nearest health center.

    Question: What is the way forward now?

    Answer: In view of the increasing danger of influenza at present, there is a need to emphasize on its vaccination. Along with this, in the last three years, due to Kovid, there has been a decrease in the vaccination of other diseases. That too has to be covered. Special emphasis needs to be laid on measles vaccination. For this, now the government should run a special campaign again.
