Furqan Khan: Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan are going to be seen sharing the screen together through the film Vikram Vedha. Vikram Vedha was made in Tamil cinema in 2017, in which R Madhavan and Vijay Sethupathi were in important roles. This film is a Hindi remake of the same. The story of this film was taken from Betaal Pachisi, written and directed by Pushkar and Gayatri. This film is going to hit the theaters on this Friday i.e. 30 September. On Tuesday, Hrithik, Saif and the film’s directors Pushkar and Gayatri had reached Delhi to promote the film, where they answered many questions related to the film.
The question and answer process started. The first question in front of everyone was that ‘Both PS1 and Vikram Vedha films are based on stories taken from books. Both are releasing on the same day. What are the expectations from Vikram Vedha in front of PS1?’ As soon as this question came to the fore, both Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan started looking towards the directors as if they did not know that the story of the film was taken from a book.
Know what Pushkar said on Ponniyin Selvan?
However, director Pushkar answered this question… He said that ‘Ponniyin Selvan is a classic text from the era of the Chola Empire. You can’t beat him.
He further said, ‘It is a book of parts, which I read in Tamil long ago. He is an inspiration to every writer who comes from Chennai. We have done our part, they have done their part. Let’s see what happens. People should watch both the films, I am definitely going to watch that film.
Let’s answer one question, Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan did not have the answer, but now the next question in front of them is that Vikram Vidha has already been released in Tamil. People can easily compare, they know the story. The film which released in 2017 was a super hit… so will this thing hurt the business of Hindi remake?
Responding to this, Pushkar said, look at it in this way, a play like Death of a Salesman has been performed on stage 200 to 500 times across the world. His handwriting remains the same, but when you bring in new actors, the whole production changes and what you see on stage also changes. Like when Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali came together in Vikram Vedha. The characters that are there, they bring something else to the screen. When we were shooting the film, we didn’t feel like we were repeating every scene back on the sets. Everything looked like new.
