the story is very emotional
The director of this film Aanand L Rai is known for his female centric characters in his films. Be it Tanu from ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ or Zoya from ‘Raanjhanaa’ or Jerry from ‘Goodluck Jerry’, women have always been strong leads in his films. But the projection of female characters in this film has been seen contrary to their style. There is neither the influence of sisters nor Bhumi Pednekar is able to do some magic. In the film, Akshay justifies dowry. The story is very emotional but the words have been chosen in a very comedy manner. This is the reason that even after half the film, emotional scenes are not able to make an impact.

The emotions of the story are being narrated very well through songs.
Sometimes the story seems so melodramatic that you are compelled to compare it with Deliscope. Collecting money for dowry by selling brother’s kidney seems too expensive. However, the subject of dowry is so sensitive and relevant in our society that the audience will definitely be able to connect with it. The story is made for a good purpose. The house of a middle-class family is clearly visible on the silver screen. This film has been successful to a great extent in showing Delhi. The music of the film is given by Himesh Reshammiya, Himesh and Akshay Kumar’s jugalbandi is amazing in terms of music. The selection of songs among the films has been excellent, the emotions of the story are seen to be told well through the songs.
