PM Surya Ghar Yojana: Before the Lok Sabha elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given another gift to the citizens of the country. Let us tell you that PM Modi gave this information on his social media platform Ax. He wrote that the Central Government is starting PM Surya Ghar Yojana to promote solar energy and sustainable progress. Under this scheme, it will illuminate 1 crore houses by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month. PM Modi said that there will be an investment of more than Rs 75000 crore in PM Surya Ghar Yojana.
Under PM Surya Ghar Yojana 1 crore houses will get free electricity
PM Modi wrote on social media platform Ax, “For sustainable development and well-being of the people, we are launching PM Surya Ghar: Free Electricity Scheme. The project, with an investment of over Rs 75000 crore, aims to light 1 crore homes by providing up to 300 units of free electricity every month”. He further said that under PM Surya Ghar Yojana “From subsidies to heavily concessional bank loans, the central government will ensure that no cost burden falls on the people. All stakeholders will be integrated into a national online portal which will further facilitate. Let us tell you that the subsidy will be given directly into people's bank accounts.
Announced in the interim budget
It is noteworthy that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had presented the interim budget on 1 February 2024. Let us tell you that in the budget, the Finance Minister had said that under the Pradhan Mantri Suryodaya Yojana, solar energy panels will be installed on the roofs of 1 crore houses. Also, 300 units of electricity will be given free of cost to these 1 crore houses every month. The Finance Minister had said in his budget speech that this will increase the facility of electrical vehicle charging. New employment opportunities will also be created through the scheme.
