At the same time, the facility of leaving the course and then studying the same course again has also been given to the students in the new guideline. The thing to note here is that students will also have the facility to study in multiple modes. This means that apart from studying with the teacher in the classroom, students will also be able to do other courses in distance learning and online mode. All these works can be done simultaneously. Under the new guideline, students also have the option of dual course. However, they can study only two valid courses simultaneously.
Option to study in three modes
Under the new guideline, orientation will now be given to students in every institute. Along with this, counseling will also be arranged. UGC has asked all the state governments and universities to make rules on their own to implement the new guidelines. They have also been given the option to implement the new rules from this academic year itself. Under the new guideline, students will have the freedom to choose three modes of study. Under this, he can choose any one option from face-to-face classroom, online course or distance learning every semester.
What are the other key points in the guideline?
Under the new guidelines of UGC, there are going to be three types of institutes in the country. It includes Research University, Teaching University and Autonomous College. If there are more than three thousand students in a college, then the college can also give them degrees at their level. Apart from this, they will also have a chance to achieve autonomous college status by opening departments of other subjects. Colleges can work in collaboration with other colleges if there are less than three thousand students.
The option of Academic Bank of Credit has been brought for the students. This account will have to be opened by every student, so that the number of the subjects studied by them can be kept safe for 7 years. At the same time, if a student has completed only one year of studies and does not want to continue further studies, then he will be given a certificate in the relevant subject. Diploma will be given after studying for two years, while a degree will be given after three years. Apart from this, there is a provision for honors or dual degree on completion of four years.
