Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is now going to provide training to children in UP schools. Along with the students, this training will also be given to the teachers.

Tata Consultancy Services, a leading company in the information technology sectorTCS) has signed an MoU with the Social Welfare Department, Government of Uttar Pradesh. Under this, TCS will train teachers and students of 105 Jai Prakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Vidyalayas run by the department in computational and logical thinking. TCS on Tuesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Social Welfare Department for 18 months in the presence of Minister of State (Independent Charge) Aseem Arun, an official statement said.
The company will train students of Jayaprakash Narayan Sarvodaya Vidyalayas and Eklavya Residential Schools in logical and computational thinking under its programs ‘Go-IT’ and ‘Ignite My Future’. The company said that through this, the aim of the government is to prepare students for subjects like Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM). 35,000 students from underprivileged sections and tribal areas live and study in these schools run by the Uttar Pradesh Social Welfare Department. The government provides quality education to these students.
What training will be available under Ignite My Future?
Under its program Ignite My Future, TCS will train around 1,500 teachers in these schools in computational thinking to help them understand computers, algorithms, programming, coding and problem solving skills. After this training, the teachers will act as master trainers to provide further training to their colleagues and students.
What training will be given in the Go-IT program?
Under the Go-IT program, students will be given training in design and logical thinking to develop problem solving skills and code. Apart from this, they will also be prepared through the international training program Bebras Computing Challenge. The program has been designed in such a way that students can evaluate themselves on international standards and succeed in programs like JEE-NEET.
At the same time, Minister Aseem Arun, Secretary Sameer Verma, TCS CSR Country Head Sunil Joseph and Center Head Amitabh Tiwari and Ravi Kohli attended the program to sign the MoU.
