After receiving the Padma Bhushan award from Sandhu, Mr. Pichai said in his blog, “I would like to thank Ambassador Sandhu and Consul General Prasad for hosting me to receive the Padma Bhushan. I am very grateful to the Government of India and the people of India for this immense honour. He said that India is a part of me. I take it with me wherever I go.
Appreciation of Modi’s Digital India vision
Appreciating the Digital India vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Pichai said that the vision of Digital India has certainly been a driver of progress. He also said that he is proud to continue his investment in India, partnering with governments, businesses and communities over two transformative decades.
$10 billion investment
Google CEO said that we had recently announced that we will invest USD 10 billion in India’s digital future, work to enable more affordable internet access, build products for India’s needs, Will help enterprises of all sizes in their digital transformation and use AI to tackle big societal issues and challenges.
Trained more than 1 million women
He further added that we are also investing in digital skilling and have trained over 1 million women through our Womenville Entrepreneurship Program and trained over 55,000 teachers in partnership with government and local organizations. We have also sponsored over 100,000 Google Career Certificates in association with NASSCOM Foundation and Tata Strive.
