In the last 1 year i.e. in the financial year 2021-2022 (April-March), in 12 months, the Central Railway collected a total fine of Rs 214.14 crore. At the same time, in the last 8 months i.e. from April to November 2022, a total fine of Rs 218 crore has been collected. This clearly shows that Railways has collected more fines in the financial year 2022-2023.
So much loss due to ticketless passengers
Due to the passengers traveling without tickets, there is a huge loss to the Railways (Indian Railway News). Railways charge many times more fine from such passengers.
