According to a Microsoft survey, most managers believe that they are not sure whether their employees are doing enough.
Employees spying is not right
Amidst the debate about moonlighting in the IT sector, two tones are clearly visible in the industry. The first class is that which is taking a strict stand regarding moonlighting. On the other hand, the second class is the one who is advocating to have a more practical attitude towards the employees. In this episode, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has added another word to the debate. According to him, productivity paranoia is now emerging between remote working or hybrid working. According to him, in the case of remote working, the management and the manager are unable to trust the employees working remotely, although on the other hand, the employees are feeling themselves under pressure. This lack of trust has led to strange madness in the work environment. According to him, in such a situation, even the spying of the employees is coming which is not right.
What is Productivity Paranoia
Actually Nadella has given this word after the results of a survey by Microsoft. According to the survey, managers are not able to trust that the employee is working with the company with full capacity from home or remote working. According to Nadella, this increasing thinking of managers about ‘lazy employees’ is leading to a productivity madness. Nadella said that in such a situation, spying to keep an eye on the employees will worsen the situation and which is completely wrong. In fact, according to the Microsoft chief, on one hand, the managers are getting the employees to work but are not trusting them. Is facing .. due to which the situation at work place is getting strange.
What are the survey results
According to the survey, 85 percent of managers are expressing concern about the fact that they do not know whether the employees are working adequately or not. That is, 85 out of every 100 managers are uncertain about the work of their employees. On the other hand, 87 percent of the employees are saying that they are doing enough work and there is no shortage in their productivity. In this survey, 20 thousand employees from 11 countries have been included. The survey clearly states that remote working has broken the connectivity between managers and employees. Microsoft said that they are adopting such tools so that managers and employees can better connect with each other. However, the company made it clear that they do not consider keeping a close watch on the employees as the right solution to increase productivity.
