Fake notes of 200 and 500 are also in the market.
In the report of RBI, it has been said that fake notes of 200 and 500 have been found in large numbers. Between April 2022 and March 2023, 27,074 fake notes of Rs 200 were caught, while 79,669 fake notes of Rs 500 reached the RBI. Whereas between April 2021 and March 2022, their numbers were 27,258 and 91,110 respectively.
Check before changing 2000 note
At present, 2000 rupee notes are being changed across the country. Between April 2022 and March 2023, RBI has received 13,604 fake notes. Whereas last year their number was only 9,806.
